Why did you decide to be a cricketer out of all the sports you could’ve played?
What made me decide to be a cricketer out of all sports was the art of batting, that what attracted me to the sport I found the art so amazing and wanted to try it out myself. And when I did I just couldn’t have enough that’s why I’m still a cricketer today.

When did you start to take it seriously?
I started playing cricket in 2009 when I was in grade 8 but I started taking it seriously in grade 9 in 2010 when I became the captain of the u15 team at school. Then I realised I can make something out of my newfound talent and love that I have for the sport.

How has cricket enhanced your life?
As the saying goes “cricket is a gentlemen game” and it has taught me to be patient as a cricketer. In order to succeed, you have to be committed as well, so I would like to think that cricket has made me a better man on and off the field.

Have you won any awards for cricket?
Yes, I have for the most improved player in Johannesburg in 2013 and have won for best bowler in the USSA tournament in 2015

Is there any cricketer you look up to?
In South Africa, it has to be Themba Bavuma, who plays for the Cape Cobras and for South Africa in Test level. He is the first black African cricketer to make a Test century for South Africa. Internationally, it is Kumar Sangakkara, a former Sri Lankan cricketer and captain of the Sri Lankan national team. I like him because he is tactful, smart and very decisive as a batsman.

What are your plans for the future?
My plans are to carry on working hard and let my talent be seen and hopefully get scouted to a semi-pro or professional team so I can pursue my dream of being a great batsman.
