Enactus DUT Reach Semi-Finals at the Enactus World Cup in USA

Enactus Durban University of Technology (DUT) are flying the University flag high, reaching the semi-final round at the Enactus World Cup in USA, last night, 18 September 2019.

The Enactus DUT team of students from both the Durban and Midlands campuses have competed against the National Champion Teams from 36 countries each showcasing their social entrepreneurship projects from the 16th to 18th September 2019 in San Jose, California (USA).

The Enactus DUT team secured their 2018 title and were victoriously crowned the national champions from 16 competing universities at the annual National Competition held in Johannesburg in July 2019. They were also the first University of Technology to win the competition in 2018 and retain the title for the second successive year.

Speaking on their accomplishment, Senior Director, Division of Corporate Affairs, Alan Khan, said: “The DUT Enactus Team qualified for the semi-final round of the 2019 Enactus World Cup. Whilst they did not win the World Cup, our talented and inspirational Enactus team finished in the Top 16, which is a great accomplishment. DUT is immensely proud of our Enactus team, who are the South African champions for the second consecutive year.”
