May seminar on the 9th at 2pm at the UFC.
Join our on-going Monthly Seminar Series May the 9th when we will be joined by our friend Richard Gevers from Open Data Durban. Open Data Durban is a non-profit civic technology lab that implements and advocates for open data, open government, and civic technology through projects, events, workshops, and dataquests (hackathons for everyone, especially non‐techies). We work with civic society, the media, government and interested and engaged citizens to democratise knowledge and enable informed decision making and evidence‐based planning in all sectors of society.
Richard will be discussing their Ask Durban project, a crowdsourcing campaign to collect questions for a Durban Answers, a website where people in Durban can go to find answers to frequently asked questions in the city. From getting a driver’s license, to getting answers on property rights, Durban Answers aims to be a tool for the entire spectrum of Durban’s vast and diverse population needs.
