Bio: I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Technology: Fashion (UJ) and Master’s in Technology: Fine Arts (cum laude) (UJ). Before joining the DUT’s Fashion and Textiles, I was a lecturer at Design School of Southern Africa and University of Johannesburg. I also worked as a design facilitator and consultant for the printmaking school Artist Proof Studio based in Newtown, Johannesburg.

Master’s in Applied Arts: Fashion (supervision)

Research and Innovation focus: Currently registered for a PhD in Visual and Performing Arts (DUT).
Research interests include community sewing projects and the role that they play in community development. This interest is approached from a social activist perspective. The research is adapted into a teaching practice that aims to inculcate students’ awareness of their multiple roles as design students and importantly as agents of positive social change.

Bio: I am a lecturer in the Department of Fashion and Textiles at the Durban University of Technology. I teach Pattern Technology, fashion specific software (Kaledo) and supervise BTech (undergraduate) and Masters students. ​I am currently pursuing my PhD in Teacher Development Studies through the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
