Email: Mrs Borg joined the Somatology department in 1996. She currently holds a National Higher Diploma: Somatology and a Master’s in Education(Higher Education). She completed the CIDESCO international exam in 1993where she was awarded best practical exam. She is currently the Head of Programme of Somatology and the third year level co-ordinator and curriculum representative. She is involved in Soma Techniques II face specialization module as well as Soma Techniques III complementary therapies such as reflexology and aromatherapy. She also is involved in research supervision.

Email: Ms Nkwanyana joined the Somatology team in 2006. She currently holds a National Diploma and Bachelor of Technology in Somatology and is presently completing her Masters in Somatology. She is a First year Coordinator and is involved in community engagement projects. She lectures Soma-Techniques I which is composed of Facial therapy and body therapy and Business practice I. Her interest and specialisation are medical aesthetics.

Email: Mrs Mbutho joined the department of Somatology in 2006 after serving five years in the industry. She obtained her National Diploma in Somatology at Natal Technikon and her Bachelor of Technology in Somatology at the Durban University of Technology. She also completed her Masters in Public Health at UKZN. Mrs Mbutho Is B-Tech Co-ordinator and is involved in research supervision.

Qualification(s): Mtech in SomatologyBio: Mrs Rammanhor joined the Somatology Team in 2006 as part of a mentorship program and has progressed today as an Experiential Learning Supervisor. This portfolio encompasses supervising students in a “work-based setting”, which operates on the DUT premises (Somatology Clinic). She also is involved in co-ordinating and participating in many community engagement projects and assists in sporting endeavours such as the Comrades, Sani2c and Dusi Marathon. She possesses a B -Tech Degree in Somatology and is currently completing her Master’s Degree in Somatology (Curriculum Development).

Courses Currently Teaching: 2nd level, 3rd level and postgraduate ( and masters supervision)
body therapy, advanced sports massage, vertical reflexology, cauterisation.
