Kelsay Rassie: First-year student, Diploma in Shipping and Logistics

“DUT has always been my dream university; it is very professional and produces adaptive graduates. I’m very excited to be here and looking forward to learning, growing, and meeting new people.”

Sbusisiwe Nxumalo: First-year student, Bachelor in Nursing

“I am honoured to be a part of DUT, it holds a special place in my heart, as my brother was once a student here, pursuing his studies. My passion for nursing began when I was in Grade 11. I was inspired by my aunt, who is a nurse, and her dedication to caring for others. Her influence sparked my interest in nursing, and as I learned more about the field, my enthusiasm only grew. I am excited to pursue my dreams in this field and make a positive impact on people’s lives.”

Sandile Jiyane: First-year student, Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Chemical Engineering

“It chose DUT because of its remarkable reputation in engineering as I will be studying Chemical Engineering. It offers great hands-on experience, which I believe will prepare me well for the industry. I’m very excited to be a DUT student and can not wait to start this new journey!”

Sbonelo Ndlovu: First-Year student, Bachelor of Education

“I am thrilled to have this opportunity to be a part of the DUT community, especially since many others aspire to be in this institution. I am committed to focusing on my studies while also exploring my passion for soccer, as I have heard that DUT encourages students to participate in any sport they are interested in.”

Mikah Bernon: First-year student, Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Civil Engineering

DUT is the perfect place for me because it offers practical learning and great networking opportunities. I feel excited, motivated, and ready to embrace this new chapter of my life, I am looking forward to being skilled and get more knowledge from them.”

Keabetswe Digomo, First-year student, Diploma in Business and Information Management

I chose DUT after consulting with my class teacher in 2024, who advised me on selecting the best University of Technology. During orientation, I had the opportunity to take the university’s pledge, a first-time experience for me. As a first-year student, navigating the university atmosphere can be daunting, but the university emphasised the importance of speaking out and seeking help when needed.”
