Green Streak Team Lauds DUT Partnership

A KwaZulu-Natal school is set to participate in the world finals of Top Gear Legacy Project’s F1 in Schools Technology Challenge thanks to the support of the Industrial Engineering Department from DUT.

The team: Green Streak from Grantleigh College, Kwambonambi, will participate in the Challenge’s finals to be held in Singapore, South-East Asia, during mid September.

Andrew Naicker, DUT Industrial Engineering HoD, said DUT is assisting Green Streak with various aspects related to the design, manufacture and test of their race car. This includes the cutting of the team’s cars as well as access to the Department’s race track for research and development purposes. “We have made our equipment and expertise available to the members of the team to assist them in their progression towards the finals in Singapore,” he said.

Green Streak’s Hilton Hoffmann said the team and school is grateful for DUT’s efficient and effective services in supporting the team,” he said.
