Bio: Ayesha Mall is a the Programme Co-ordinator and lecturer for the Journalism programme in the Department of Media, Language and Communication at the Durban University of Technology, Durban, South Africa. Prior to that, Ayesha taught Journalism and Media Studies at Natal Technikon, University of Natal and at Damelin Education Group. Ayesha has a BA Communications degree from Unisa, an Honours degree in Media Studies from the University of Natal, and a Master of Arts degree in Cultural, Communication and Media Studies from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban.Her MA dissertation was on the role and governance of Muslim community radio in South Africa.Ayesha has work in various capacities in media. She worked at broadcast production companies, Chalkface Edutainment and New Wave Productions, as a television producer; researching, scriptwriting and producing inserts and documentaries for various magazine programmes broadcast by the South African Broadcast Corporation (SABC).She headed the news team and produced the current affairs show at a Durban-based community radio, Radio Al-Ansaar.She was the news editor of Africa Perspectives, a monthly newspaper distributed in southern Africa.Currently she delivers research papers at local and international media, communication and journalism related conferences, writes journal papers, book chapters and media industry publication pieces about the media rather than for the media. Bio: Siphumelele Zondi holds a Master of Arts in Media and Cultural Studies from Sussex University in England. He has vast experience as a lecturer and as a journalist. Zondi is also the creator, senior producer and anchor of a technology and social media news programme called Network on the SABC News Channel. In 2017, he was named as one of the Top 200 Young South Africans by the Mail & Guardian newspaper. .
