InvoTech, the business incubator at the Durban University of Technology, hosted its fourth Business Breakfast on Monday, 23 January 2017, at the Southern Sun Elangeni Hotel, Durban.

The business breakfasts, which will be held monthly, are an opportunity for the business incubator to inspire entrepreneurs as well as build real relationships while obtaining personal business development. The events also seek to provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs to connect and stay connected by building strong business relationships through networking.

The breakfast was attended by approximately 100 people who included entrepreneurs and stakeholders from various organisations. Elaine Ram from the Technology Innovation Agency’s (TIA) Bioprocessing platform took attendees through a presentation on what the platform has to offer. Jason Naidoo from Cloud Logic mentioned the three fundamental concepts within the IT environment during his talk:

  • Virtualisation
  • Infrastructure
  • Software service

There were also three elevator pitches for the morning; firstly being Zazi Ndlovu from Pathway Board Games who has developed a biblical game, which is interactive and informative. The game covers both the new and old testaments of the bible, with more than 500 verses to learn in one game within an hour. The second elevator pitch was by Esmeen Usher who has produced a skin cream designed to treat eczema and acne. Lastly was Ntokozo Biyela who recently launched a book titled Mind Set Shift and is highly involved in life and business coaching as well as property development.
