MBATHA GRADUATES CUM LAUDE ONCE AGAIN!

Andiswa Mbatha joined the winning crew as she achieved Cum Laude for her Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting. Mbatha graduated in absentia on 25 May 2023 during the Durban University of Technology (DUT) Autumn graduation that is being hosted at the Olive Convention Centre.

The 22-year-old unfortunately will not be present to receive her hard-earned qualification although she expressed that she was excited to be graduating Cum Laude. She added that this came as proof that hard work and dedication really pays off. Mbatha also graduated Cum laude for her National Diploma in Cost Management Accounting in 2022.

Hailing from eMtubatuba, Northern KwaZulu-Natal, Mbatha described herself as a silent go-getter.

“In my whole entire life, I have always feared failing which is what gave me more power to reach my goals. My family and friends have always had faith in me but overall I was my own biggest supporter since I don’t share much with everyone and  I love working and being alone. It is overwhelming to see that all my hard work paid off,” said Mbatha.

According to Mbatha, failing was never an option. She dedicated this achievement to her little sister  whom she says looks up to her.

Her journey at DUT started in 2019 when she enrolled as a student for a National Diploma in Cost Management Accounting, a three year course of which according to her was not bad but problems came when online classes commenced. This was a new way of learning and it imposed a big challenge on Mbatha. She alluded that she conquered all the challenges that came with the pandemic COVID-19 with prayer.  This accolade serves to bring hope since Mbatha is currently seeking employment.

Mbatha had learned that everyone is a winner at the end of the day, everyone is doing things at their own pace which is good because one can’t be influenced by how their peers are living as long as one knows their goal and what they want to achieve that is all that is needed.

“To first year students, as long as you see and understand the picture at the end of everything you do that is all that matters. Giving it your all comes with great news and joy at the end,” advised Mbatha.
