Most Commercial Range on Show Award for Hadebe

Most Commercial Range on Show Award for Hadebe

Londiwe Hadebe’s love for “all things bright and beautiful” inspired by sunset, the ocean and colours collection scooped the Most Commercial Range on Show in this year’s DUT Annual Fashion Show 2015 on Friday, 2 October 2015.

Hadebe’s range was part of the 20 fashion collections chosen for the Show’s Finale at the Fred Crookes Sport Centre, Steve Biko Campus. This year’s theme: INCARNATION, allowed students to draw inspiration from the global environment and through their interpretation of the theme.

Drawing her inspiration from the sunset, the ocean and bright colours, the bubbly and flamboyant Hadebe said fashion for her was not only about designing and just making clothes, but something that brought a whole new aura of positivity.

“I love colour especially bright colours. I love it when all things are bright and beautiful. Bright colours bring out happiness. I found the combination between turquoise, navy and orange to be the best colour co-ordination when interpreting happiness, sunset and the ocean,” she said. Neck pieces that formed part of Hadebe’s range were designed and made by Siyasanga of Hlubi Creations (a DUT Drama and Production Studies Alumnus).

The cheerful designer (Hadebe) walked away with a voucher to the value of R5000 and her range will be showcased at Fashion World. Sharing her future endeavours, Hadebe said she had a lot of great things coming her way and the fashion industry must expect amazing things from her. “I am bringing evolution and like my second name Nobuhle, I will bring more beauty to the fashion industry filled with amazing stuff,” she added.
