MPANZA ENCOURAGES WOMEN TO STUDY HARD AND ACHIEVE Good Results

Hard work, listening, believing in herself, and never giving up earned Durban University of Technology’s (DUT’s) Nomzamo Mpanza excellent academic results for her research.

The visionary Mpanza, who never stops dreaming, graduated cum laude with a Degree of Master of Management of Sciences in Administration and Information. She received the prestigious Dean’s Merit award for academic excellence on 13 September 2017, during the Faculty of Accounting and Informatics session at 9 am.
Her research dissertation is titled: Evaluation of Quality Administrative Practice. In three selected Technical and Vocational Education and Training colleges (TVET) in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).

Mpanza said that the journey of her studies needed courage and dedication as it was no walk in the park, she had to do her best and the results can speak for itself. “It been a long and very stressful journey for me and I am very proud of myself for achieving this degree with two awards. I feel honoured and humbled,” said Mpanza.

Juggling work, studies and a social life can be a bit hectic and one has to be focused as well.  “My fiancé’s support and belief in me, kept me going. My family, their inspiration, and motivation also kept me going. My friends and colleagues, as well as their moral support, was also highly appreciated,” she said.

Mpanza gave words of encouragement to young African women to pursue their studies as there were plenty of opportunities that awaited them.
“Have a vision, dream about it, make a move. Never stop the journey, no matter how hard it may be, tell yourself you can do it. Don’t be afraid, be a good fighter, be that woman of your own vision,” she encouraged.
