NKULULEKO TSHABALALA REJOICES AS HE ATTAINS CUM LAUDE FOR HIS POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN TAXATION

NKULULEKO TSHABALALA REJOICES AS HE ATTAINS CUM LAUDE FOR HIS POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN TAXATION

The dedicated and career-driven Nkululeko Tshabalala (29) from Newcastle, graduated Cum Laude for his Postgraduate Diploma in Taxation, Thursday, 25 May 2023, at the Durban University of Technology (DUT) Autumn Graduation Ceremony held at the Olive Convention Centre.

The Cum Laude graduate explained that this is his third qualification as he had previously graduated for his National Diploma in Taxation where he obtained Cum Laude; he then went on to enrol for his Bachelor of Technology in Taxation.

When asked why he chose to pursue Taxation he commented that he enjoys working with numbers. His love for numbers started in high school when he was doing Accounting, leading him to specialise in Taxation at tertiary level.

Tshabalala shared that he enjoyed every moment at DUT as a student as he was doing what he loves. The challenging part for him was having to work and study at the same time. He expressed that he overcame this challenge by taking a step back from his social life and putting more focus on his studies.

In Grade 12 he was able to get four distinctions, and since then he has never looked back on passing with flying colours. Tshabalala made mention that it makes him feel good and he uses it to motivate his younger siblings to focus on studying.

The elated Cum Laude graduate expressed how euphoric he was upon learning that he had completed his third qualification and would be graduating Cum Laude.

“It feels good and it makes me want to study more. I remember that I kept on checking on my student portal just to be sure that indeed I had attained Cum Laude,” he reiterated.

Furthermore, Tshabalala shared that he is currently busy with his proposal for his Master of Commerce in Taxation. The dynamic lad is flying the DUT flag high as he is currently serving at the Transnet Freight Rail at Finance under the Taxation Department.
