Nokukhanya Khambule from Avoca Hills in Durban, has achieved a remarkable milestone by graduating with Cum Laude and receiving the Dean’s Merit Award in her Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration, specialising in Supply Chain Management.
She was recognised by Durban University of Technology’s (DUT’s) Faculty of Management Sciences as one of its top achiever at the DUT 2025 Autumn graduation ceremony, held at the Indumiso Campus, Pietermaritzburg on Monday, 12 May 2025.
Her journey at DUT was marked by growth, discipline, and hard work. With a clear goal in mind, she dedicated herself to her studies, and the support she received from her lecturers helped her to stay motivated and focused.
“Balancing my studies with a demanding job was a challenge. There were moments when I had to juggle work responsibilities and academic deadlines, which was not always easy. Staying organised and maintaining a strong, work ethic helped me get through it,” she said.
Khambule’s family was overjoyed when they heard the news of her graduation. Their pride and excitement meant a lot to her, and she was grateful to have shared this achievement with them.
Her passion for supply chain management stems from her desire to contribute to better service delivery and improve the lives of others. Her experience working in a government institution, assisting with Supply Chain Management (SCM) processes, has given her valuable insights into the industry and fuelled her determination to succeed.
The 32-year-old aspires to further her studies by pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration, specialising in Supply Chain Management. She believes that deepening her knowledge will help her advance in her career.
She advises first-year students to stay focused and manage their time well.
“My advice is to stay focused and manage your time. Reach out to professionals within your field of study and get a mentor to assist you throughout your career journey. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and seek help when needed,” she shared.
