Ntuli’s Struggles Shaped Him into A Better Person

Ntuli’s Struggles Shaped Him into A Better Person

Bizinkosi Ntuli obtained a Bachelor of Technology degree in Business Administration Management  Cum laude with a Deans Merit Award, this afternoon (Friday, 10 May 2019), at the Fred Crookes Sports Centre, Steve Biko Campus, Durban.

“It’s such an honour to pass with the Deans Merit Award. This qualification is also in honour of my sister and my family who supported and believed in me throughout this journey,” he said excitedly.

Initially, he enrolled for a National Diploma in Tourism Catering Management, graduating in 2016. For his BTech, he decided to diversify into another course like Business Administration Management so that he has a better understanding of the business acumen as well. Ntuli, who hails from KwaMaphumulo, said he is grateful to his father who taught him that a man needs to be independent, educated and responsible to have a brighter future.

“However, there were times where I struggled so much but I told myself that these challenges are happening to shape me to be a better person. One of the obstacles I went through as a student was that I had no place to stay, so I stayed at the KwaMashu Hostel which was not an ideal place for a student like me,” he said.

Despite the housing challenge, he persevered and achieved his dream of obtaining his BTech degree. His advice to future DUT students is that they need to push themselves to achieve their goals and never give up no matter how difficult it gets.
