Book Exhibition

Media statement by Nomonde Mbadi, Executive Director of Corporate Affairs

Durban University of Technology Library traditionally holds a Book Exhibition during South African Library Week. This year is no exception. On the 18th and 19th March 2009 eleven book suppliers will descend on DUT to display their latest publications in the Ritson Hall on Ritson Campus.

This main exhibition will be aimed at the Steve Biko and ML Sultan campus communities whilst the other campuses, such as City, Brickfield, Midlands (Riverside and Indumiso) will have their own exhibitions.

The purpose of the exhibition is to ensure the enrichment of the DUT Library collections through the addition of current and relevant information resources.

Lecturers and librarians will be invited to view the items on display, which have been specially selected with the academic programmes in mind. An invitation is also extended to colleagues from other higher education institutions to attend.

Other activities during this time include:
• 18th March : 11:00-12:00 : a presentation on the EBSCO Database
12:00-13:00 : Information Literacy Champions
• 19th March : 12:00-13:00 : a presentation on EndNote software
