Chinese Film Festival

The First Chinese Film Festival is being launched in Durban on 18 August 2009.08.13

The festival is a collaboration between the Chinese Consulate in Durban and the Durban University of Technology.

The festival runs for 4 weeks, show-casing China’s talent in Cinematography. Twelve movies are scheduled to be screened in various DUT campuses throughout the festival. Movies to feature vary from Comedy, Romance, Documentary and Tragedy.

The purpose of the festival is to showcase the Chinese film industry to the South African Community whilst strengthening cultural relations. The vision is for both cultures to exchange information and ideas, understand cultural diversity and relate to challenges that face both communities.
The launch starts at 6pm on Tuesday, 18 August 2009, at the Durban University of Technology’s Hotel School Conference centre.
