DUT Students To Visit Westville Prison

DUT STUDENTS TO VISIT WESTVILLE PRISON

Residence students from the Durban University of Technology will be visiting inmates at the Westville prison as part of their community engagement project this Wednesday (26 September).The programme is aimed at paving a way for prisoners that are getting out soon. “We want to interact with them and raise awareness on crime and HIV/Aids. According to Nosipho Bhengu “The theme of the day is HIV is another guy’s story, we want to interpret the theme with drama so that the inmates can visualise what we are talking about”. Activities lined up for the day include: traditional dance, poetry and group discussions.
