Khumalo trio graduate at DUT

Three Khumalo sisters, from Mzingazi near Richards Bay, will celebrate in style when they graduate for their respective qualifications on 19 April at Durban University of Technology.

Nokuthula, 25, will receive a BTech degree in Human Resource Management, while Khululiwe, 23, and Zandile, 21, will receive their National Diploma in Operations Management.

Speaking on behalf of her sisters, Zandile, the youngest said as a family they are proud of their achievements. She attributed their success to their enthusiasm and responsible parents and the effort they put into their work. “We are a big family and we are proud that most of us have graduated from DUT. Nokuthula is even more excited that she is getting her degree, she has been working hard and has longed for it,” said Zandile. She advised scholars to concentrate on their studies to obtain good results that will enable them to gain access to higher education.

Nokuthula is employed on a temporary basis at Transnet’s Port Operations, Zandile is completing her internship at Packo food manufacturers in Verulam and Khululiwe is currently seeking employment opportunities. Their elder sister, Nomsa lectures at DUT.

Zandile and Khululiwe want to follow in the footsteps of Nokuthula by pursuing their BTech degrees. The Khumalo sisters intend on establishing their own family business.
