RadioDUT is Looking for You!

RadioDUT is Looking for You!

Do you love radio? Do you have the voice for radio? Do you ever imagine scores of people listening to your voice through the airwaves?

If you answer is yes then you might just be what RadioDUT is looking for.

DUT’s young yet vibrant and only campus radio station is looking for presenters, news anchors and disc jokeys (DJ’s). The two-year old radio station is hosting a series of auditions. The first round began in November 2016 and is running until the end of January 2017, targeting returning students. The second round of auditions will commence from February, ending in March and it will be held in all DUT campuses. The latter round will be targeting first-year students.

According to RadioDUT Station Manager, Sibusiso Nxumalo, the radio station is not just about entertainment and campus life but also about social change. “In 2017 and going forward, we at RadioDUT plan to advocate more for positive social change, provide and create opportunities for students and to celebrate local talent within the University,” he said.

RadioDUT has seen many talents flourish from just being campus radio presenters and Dj’s to making it to local and mainstream radio stations. RadioDUT has produced talents like DJ Lolo (Londeka Shabane) of East Coast Radio, TorchyLoony (Sethabile Bhekiswayo) of Inanda fm and Dj Swb (Sibusiso Nxumalo), to name but a few.

RadioDUT is an online based radio station that is diverse and vibrant. It (RadioDUT) it seeks to empower students before, during and after their academic lives.
