The Durban University of Technology (DUT) Communications team’s Nomvelo Zulu spoke to DUT students about their registration process, to gauge if they had faced any challenges and how they managed to overcome them.

“I just finished doing my registration and I found the registration process very easy. I thought I was going to face lots of difficulties, long queues but everyone around the campus was willing to help. As soon as I arrived at the university premise I found student representatives standing at the registration venue. The students who helped me with my registration were very polite and explained everything to me. I am officially a Durban University of Technology (DUT) student, and that has been my childhood dream.”

“Even though I found myself registered for a course that was not my first choice, I’m glad that I am finally registered, I am now a university student. I know a lot of people who were not accepted by any universities so I just want to thank God for making my dream come true. I can’t wait for the classes to commence and experience university life and make new friends.”

“With the help of the registration helpers I was able to register. I was so afraid thinking that I won’t find help since I am a person that is very shy to ask for help, however that was not the case. As soon as I got to DUT, I was approached by student representatives who offered to help me. I am so relieved that I managed to register without any problems.”

“I registered for Financial Accounting and I found the registration process very easy. At the registration gate at campus I found someone who took me to the registration venue. They helped me with the registration processes. I am officially a DUT student and I am looking forward to the university life. At first, I was very scared but DUT people were so welcoming I ended up making a lot of friends in one day.”
