Rewarding Excellence

This evening (Friday, 18 March 2016), the Durban University of Technology will confer awards to staff members who are engaging in exciting, visionary projects which relate to and underpin the University’s Strategic Plan 2015-2019: Towards Relevance, Responsiveness and Resilience.
The annual awards, which are open to staff in all categories of employment, present the opportunity to highlight the achievements of staff to the DUT community and beyond.
The awards will be held at 18h30 at the DUT Hotel School, Ritson Campus.
The categories and their nominee projects are as follows:
1. 2015 Chancellor’s Award: Engagement- SETA Funding for WIL Students.
2. 2015 Chancellor’s Award: Student Centeredness- OLUMS.
3. 2015 Chancellor’s Award: Greening the University- DUT GreenRide Project.
4. 2015 Vice-Chancellor’s Awards: Greening the University- Saphumula School Project.
5. 2015 Chancellor’s Award: Engagement- ROCS Project Initiatives.
6. 2015 Chancellor’s Award: Student Centeredness- Derminator.
7. 2015 Council Awards: Building Research and Innovation for Development- DUT GreenRide Project
8. 2015 Council Awards: Building Research and Innovation for Development- Saphumula School Project.
9. 2015 Chancellor’s Award: Student Centeredness- Residence Educational Programme.
10. 2015 Chancellor’s Award: Engagement- DUT GreenRide Project.
11. 2015 Council Awards: Building Research and Innovation for Development- Creating Jobs from Waste.
12. 2015 Council Awards: Building Sustainable Student Communities of Living and Learning- The Language Lab.
13. 2015 Council Awards: Building Research and Innovation for Development- Mentorship Program.
14. 2015 Council Awards: Building Research and Innovation for Development- Second International Conference on Composites, Bio-composites and Nanocomp-osites (ICCBN 2015).
15. 2015 Council Awards: Building Research and Innovation for Development- Use of Social media (Facebook, Youtube, twitter) as a communication tool.
16. 2015 Vice-Chancellor’s Awards: Internationalising the University- Work Integrated Learning/ Student Development.
17. 2015 Vice-Chancellor’s Awards: Transforming Institutional Culture- Mainstreaming Academic Literacies.
18. Chancellor’s Award: Engagement- Saphumula School Project.
