Dr Richard Maponya to Talk Entrepreneurship at DUT

Dr Richard Maponya to Talk Entrepreneurship at DUT

The Durban University of Technology will host the Richard Maponya Workshop on Entrepreneurship on 09 May 2016 at the DUT Ritson Campus in Durban.

The workshop starts at 08h00 and will end around 15h00.

The main guest at the workshop will be Dr Richard Maponya, the self-made millionaire and owner of Maponya Mall in Soweto. The 90-year old has created the Dr Richard Maponya Institute for Skills and Entrepreneurship Development in partnership with University of Johannesburg and DUT. This is his legacy to the country.

The Maponya Way is based on the entrepreneurship model of the Brazilian National Service for Industrial Training (SENAI), which when first implemented, saw Brazil’s unemployment drop from around 40% to less than 5%.

There will be several other well-experienced facilitators at the workshop.

There is no fee to participate in the workshop. Seats are however limited and booking is essential.

For further enquiries and to book your seat, contact Bongani Qwabe on (031) 373 6442 or email bonganiq@dut.ac.za
