The second Durban University of Technology (DUT) Interdisciplinary Research, Innovation and Postgraduate Conference will be held at the Hotel Conference Centre, Ritson Campus from 13 to 15 June 2017. The conference intends to bring researchers, postgraduate students and academics across the region to exchange ideas in a variety of disciplines such as Accounting, Management Sciences, Humanities, Sciences, Engineering and Information Technology among other disciplines.

The conference expects to welcome both local and international delegates from several universities across South Africa and some others from outside Africa.

The key speakers of the conference are Professor Tennyson Mgutshini from the University of South Africa; Prof Marena Manley from Stellenbosch University; Prof Labby Ramrathan from the University of KwaZulu-Natal; and Prof Carin Napier; Prof Noddy Jinabhai; Prof Thengani Ngwenya all from DUT.

Plenary speaker at the conference, DUT’s Prof Napier is an Associate Professor in the Department of Food and Nutrition at the Durban University of Technology in South Africa (SA). Working at an academic institution for the last 18 years has given her the ideal opportunity to practice food and nutrition in the context of educating students, doing research as well as uplifting communities served by the University she worked in. She has published 18 articles in accredited journals and presented papers at numerous international and national conferences.
Also bringing a wealth of experience to the conference is Prof Jinabhai, who has been involved in accreditation and review of academic programmes in Africa, India, UK and Brazil for the last 25 years.
