SHOZI’s POSITIVE IMPACT EARNS HIM A “No Limits Award”.

Although he had to endure some daunting challenges in his life, the Durban University of Technology Alumnus Mfundo Shozi continues to shine.

The ambitious Shozi has added another accolade to his list of achievements by winning the ‘No Limits Award’ during the First Annual Great Impact Awards ceremony. The esteem award was bestowed on him on the 2nd of December 2017 at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Convention Centre (ICC). The award is given to an individual who has contributed immensely in the society’s progress despite facing challenges of their own.

Shozi graduated with a Public Relations Management qualification under trying circumstances after losing his leg when he was only 19-years-old. This calamity did not signal the end of Shozi, instead it propelled him to greater heights. When the tragedy struck, he was forced to temporary stop studying but he later returned to complete what he had started. The 26-year-old subsequently founded UvoLwethu Communication, a PR consulting agency and also establishing MegaStars Sports Management. He also launched his writing career in process.

Asked to comment on winning the prestigious award, Shozi said: “It really is an honour and a privilege for me to have been given a ‘No Limits Award’ because it is a representation of what is possible if we choose to not allow our lives to be defined by our circumstances.”

Shozi added that when he lost his right leg at the age of 19, he made a decision that he was not going to allow that to dictate his future, instead he was going to use his circumstances to become a better person.

“Even though I saw my right leg laying there on the floor, I knew it was up to me to either allow it to make me a better or bitter person,” said Shozi.

The First Annual Great Impact Awards were organized by a Non-Profits Organization called Gr8t Impact Lifestyle founded by businesswoman Mrs Thobekile Ndlovu. The objectives of the awards are centred around bringing about social change and developing a well-balanced society. The awards were held under the theme “Awarding Great Minds and Excellence” encouraging every South African citizen to unleash their hidden potential.
