Snyman Believes to Push Beyond Your Limits

“It feels so good knowing that I have graduated after going through sleepless nights of studying, forming study groups, and forcing myself to study,” said an elated Roland Snyman.

Snyman graduated Cum Laude with a Deans Merit award for his National Diploma in Management Sciences (Operations Management). He graduated at the Fred Crookes Sports Centre, Steve Biko Campus on Friday, 10 May 2019.

He also added that he only had his pensioner dad, so he owed it to him to study hard and make something out of his life.

“I still can’t believe how fast the three years went by. Honestly, at first I regretted the idea of furthering my studies but it was my only option since it was hard finding a job after matric,” he stressed.

Snyman also committed many hours to studying which required him to always be alert and dedicated to achieving good results. Explaining more on his choice of study, Snyman said Operations Management is the core function of all businesses. He said it is a course for those who love working with people, who want to showcase their skills, and who feel that they have the potential to become future leaders.

DUT is his first and only preferred University to study at and he is currently doing his BTech in Management Sciences (Operations Management). Snyman reiterated that DUT gave him the opportunity to explore and fulfil his dreams by providing him with the necessary technology to help him study. “They have the best qualified lecturers and on top of that provide tutors to re-inforce the lectures to students to ensure they understand the work. I would like to thank DUT, it’s staff as well as the students for helping me achieve my diploma. I really appreciate all the help and devotion,” he said jubilantly.

Snyman is currently doing an internship at Virginia Airport in Durban North. “I’m in the operations department with Airport Management, Indiza. My dream is to become part of the biggest companies (operations) in the world. Get a chance to learn and grow with them,” he said.
