The Design Studio (DS) within the Corporate Affairs Unit at the Durban University of Technology (DUT) provides creative and design services that align with the university’s official brand identity.
This Client Brief Form is intended to capture the expectations and requirements of our clients to ensure that the Design Studio produces accurate, high-quality and print or product-ready materials that meet DUT’s professional standards.
Upholding the DUT Brand
The Brand Manual and Principles and Guidelines: Brand Identity Manual outlines the official standards for the correct and consistent application of the university’s brand identity. A strong, unified corporate identity communicates who we are as an institution and support ENVISION2030.
A university’s corporate identity is reflected through its logo, typeface and positioning statement. Consistent use of these elements across all communication materials, such as letterheads, advertisements, websites, publications, posters, memorabilia and presentations, reinforces a cohesive and professional image for DUT.
Brand Compliance and Support
The Brand Manual and Principles and Guidelines: Brand Identity Manual provides detailed guidance on the correct use of DUT’s corporate identity, including its colours, layout and typographical standards. These guidelines serve as the benchmark for applying the DUT identity across multiple platforms and communication formats. As the custodian of the DUT brand, the Corporate Affairs Unit offers consultation and support to all members of the DUT community and external stakeholders regarding brand and logo application. The university does not permit any deviation from the approved brand elements outlined in the manual.
Please note that the DUT logo is a registered trademark and must always be used in accordance with the university’s brand guidelines.
