Terrence Bray to Showcase at the Vodacom Durban July

Fashion extraordinaire and former Fashion and Textiles Lecturer, Terrence Bray is one of this year’s (2017) Vodacom Durban July (VDJ) Invited Designers.

Bray who has established himself as an award-winning designer will be showcasing his work alongside seven of the country’s trailblazers in the fashion industry.

He is one of the five designers that are from the host province KwaZulu-Natal which include, the duo of Dale McCarthy and Jane Wolff, the respected Sibu Msimang, and the rising stars Sadie Bosworth Smith and Mxolisi Mkhize, whose label House of St Luke is turning heads.
VDJ’s Fashion Programme coordinator Tiffany Prior said she was thrilled about this year’s line-up, saying it is one of the strongest ever.

On Bray, she said: “Terrence Bray will do what he always does and knock our socks off. He loves the creative latitude that the Invited Designer Showcase affords the designers, and I can’t wait to see his take on the theme “the Colour Of Magic”.

The fashion maestro graduated from the fashion department in 1995 and in 1998 started his own clothing label, which has seen him dressing international starts like, Charlene, Her Serene Highness The Princess of Monaco.
Over the years, Bray has been featured in a number of international magazines and was named ‘South African label to buy’ by British Vogue. South African GQ voted him ‘most outstanding Men’s designer’ firmly cementing his position in the South African fashion industry.

Bray is also one of the judges at this Vodacom Durban July Young Designer Award.
