The Fashion of “False Gods” At DUT Annual Fashion Show

Intriguing, funky, sexy and extraordinary garments were showcased at the opening night of the Durban University of Technology’s department of Fashion and Textile’s annual fashion show, last night.
The three-day affair which commenced last night (Wednesday, 04 October 2017) at the Fred Crookes Sports centre, will see 36 third year Fashion and Textile students showcase their designs. The 2017 theme False Gods is all about imagination and creativity.

Sipho Mbuto, one of the designers whose garments were showcased last night said he was confident that he will make it to the grand finale night on Friday. Mbuto’s range is a proportion and utilitarian details that are restructured with method for his menswear range.

“My view is; I will make top ten tomorrow because I was able to collaborate my designs with the competitions theme. I just found the creativity for the entire show to be on another level,” said Mbuto.
Tonight (Thursday, 05 October 2017), Bachelor of Technology Degree students will showcase their garments ahead of the grand finale on Friday, 06 October 2017. All shows start at 19h00.
