THE IN2IT TECHNOLOGIES AND GOVTECH 2022 HOSTED AN EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOP FOR DUT IT STUDENTS

The In2IT Technologies partnered with GovTech 2022 and with the Durban University of Technology (DUT) Department of Cooperative Education recently conducted an Information Technology (IT) Educational Workshop for IT students at the Durban Exhibition.

The purpose of this workshop was to give students a platform to engage and be substantially informed about IT, what it requires and to indoctrinate what is the In2IT Technologies about and the opportunities they offer within IT.

In2IT Technologies is fast being reckoned as the leading authority in IT Consultancy, Cloud Computing, Managed Services, Application Development and Maintenance, Business Process Management, Technology Infrastructure Services, Programme and Project Management and Future Edge Services to its clientele in India and abroad, especially in the US, South Africa, Australia, Middle East and Singapore, to name a few significant countries.

In2IT Technologies aim to keep their clients on the radar of continually evolving technology, understanding that technology is the enabler and that there is always scarcity of resources to embrace the right technology.

“This aim of In2IT is to create employment to make sure that when you graduate you can be employable,” said Tshepo Mokoena Executive Chairperson of IN2IT Technologies

He further stated that they deal with original equipment manufacturers namely, Microsoft, CISCO, HAUWEI etc. They employ over 600 people, and they are placed with different clients that they have.

Some of their clients include the South African Reserve Bank (SARS), First National Bank (FNB) to name but a few. He indicated that it’s very crucial for an IT individual to be certified as it increases their chances of being employed.

Vusi Manana the HR manager at SITA said: “SITA specialises in IT for the government whether it’s provincial or national as they tend to support all their systems and perform their network. IT in general as here in South Africa we still in 4IR hence other countries have already moved to 5IR, I would like to compliment you for choosing IT, as it is one of the fast-paced industries and in high demand.”

He advised students to enrol for a course to study cyber security, data, because those are the skills that are currently in demand.

“In 2017 GovTech 2022 working with DUT’s Professor Colin Thakur hosted a Hackathon. It was about groups coming up with various ideas on how to solve technical problems, and prizes were R100.000 to R50.000,”said Manana.

According to Manana, SITA has created 70 E-services for government to assist in service delivery through IT and have also assisted government with the NDP VISION 2030 with ICT solutions to help government to achieve those objectives.

“I have learnt something that is important, take what you have in terms of IT and turn it into a business. There are also many career fields in the IT sector which you can utilise to become an entrepreneur. It’s a matter of saving infrastructure and making money to contribute to our economy,” commented Manaka Mokgonyana, ICT: Business Analysis student.

In2IT then gave the student attendees with branded T-Shirts, notebooks, pens, 16GB USBs and flasks.

The GovTech 2022 driven by SITA will further be conducting a conference where technology discussions will take place.
