THE INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION AND PARTNERSHIPS (IEP) OFFICE HOSTED A CULTURAL EXCHANGE WORKSHOP WITH LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

The International Education and Partnerships (IEP) office recently hosted a successful cultural exchange workshop at Ritson Campus, Hotel School. The workshop brought together local and international students, celebrating the university’s diverse students. Students from different countries shared their cultural practices, traditions, and personal experiences. South African students shared their own insights, showcasing the country’s vibrant culture.

Carol Newman, International Education Officer, welcomed students emphasising its goal of fostering friendships beyond the classroom. She emphasised that the purpose of the workshop was to create an opportunity for international and local students to engage with each other and to encourage the students to consider a different viewpoint and to develop a better and greater appreciation for international diversity.

Newman thanked Ms Tasneem Seedat, the workshop facilitator, for her invaluable contribution to creating an engaging and enriching experience. Ms Newman thanked the students for availing themselves for the workshop and encouraged them to always be open minded about learning other cultures.

The students urged other students to step out of their comfort zones and learn about other cultures.
