Uzalo actor, Simphiwe Majozi, also known as “Sbu”, graced the Durban University of Technology (DUT) graduation ceremony to witness his partner, Bongiwe Nkosi, obtain her first qualification, a Diploma in Hospitality Management. She was among the graduates from the Faculty of Management Sciences who were honoured at the DUT 2026 Autumn Graduation ceremony, held at the Olive Convention Centre in Durban on Monday, 25 May 2026.

Simphiwe’s presence captured the attention of many graduates and guests attending the ceremony. The actor proudly cheered for his partner as her name was called on stage. The atmosphere was filled with love, support, and celebration. His fans commended him for standing alongside his partner as she graduated, highlighting the importance of having a strong support system during moments of success.

Speaking about the occasion, Simphiwe said he was excited to share this academic achievement with his partner. He congratulated her for committing to her studies and working hard to obtain her qualification.

“I am so proud of her. I am happy to have been present to share this big accomplishment with her. I am hoping she will be able to get a job soon. We do not want her certificate to collect dust, but we hope it will open doors for her. She has worked hard for this, and she deserves all the good things that will come her way,” he said.

Despite having been with Uzalo for the past 12 years, Simphiwe shared that he is also a director and writer. In his spare time, he teaches acting to aspiring actors. He added that he is currently shooting a movie with Netflix that will feature international actors. His fans can look out for the movie in the coming months, possibly in September 2026.

His partner, Bongiwe (28), from Mariannhill in Pinetown, expressed gratitude to Simphiwe for the unwavering encouragement she received throughout her studies, describing his support as a source of motivation during challenging times.
