YURESHA NAIK OVERJOYED AS SHE GRADUATED WITH CUM LAUDE AND RECEIVED THE DEAN’S MERIT AWARD FOR HER BACHELORS DEGREE IN CLINICAL TECHNOLOGY

Yuresha Naik graduated for her Degree of Bachelor of Health Sciences in Clinical Technology. The 22-year-old who is from Chatsworth Durban, was conferred her Degree at the Durban University of Technology’s (DUT’s) 2023 Autumn graduation ceremony that was held at the Olive Convention Centre, during the morning session (31 May 2023).

Naik shared that her journey at DUT as student was not easy as she faced some of the challenges such as struggling to have a balance between her schoolwork and her social life. She overcame this challenge by having an effective time management plan.

“My journey at DUT was good but there were also hardships but with perseverance it got me to where I am right now,” said Naik

She is mostly grateful for her parents, grandparents and siblings for supporting her throughout her DUT journey. She furthered that the challenges she faced as a student was when COVID-19 hit, when students were now transitioning from physical classes to online classes. This was a challenge to her because sometimes Naik would have network problems and get distracted by the noise around her environment.

Naik is not sure whether she will be furthering her studies only the future will tell. She felt amazing and excited about walking the graduation stage, being conferred her Degree and receiving a Dean’s Merit Award for her academic excellence.

Advising first year students Naik said “Study hard and always have a good balance for your studies and social life.”
