ZWELAKHE NGWAZI SHARES ON HIS JOURNEY AT DUT

Meet Zwelakhe Ngwazi, a Marketing graduate currently serving in the Student Recruitment Department at the Durban University of Technology (DUT). He is also pursuing an Advanced Diploma in Marketing and is expected to graduate next year.

At the 4th Annual EHS & DUT Social Cohesion Tournament 2026, Zwelakhe played an important role as part of the Student Recruitment outreach team, engaging prospective learners from Grades 9 to 12. He provided guidance on DUT’s admission requirements, programme offerings and study pathways, helping learners make informed decisions about their future.

“It is important for learners to apply on time, pay attention to application opening and closing dates, and ensure that application fees are paid to avoid disappointment or unnecessary gap years,” he emphasised. Beyond learner engagement, Zwelakhe also built meaningful connections with teachers and school principals, promoting the DUT brand and creating awareness of the University’s academic opportunities. He further supported the department’s digital storytelling by creating content for the DUT Student Recruitment Facebook and TikTok platforms. He interviewed learners, attendees and DUT staff to capture their experiences, while also speaking to the coaches of the winning teams from Witbank High School, Old Mill and Khombindlela.

Highlights from the tournament, including trophy presentations and team celebrations, were shared on the @dutstudentrecruitment TikTok page.

Zwelakhe’s contribution reflects DUT’s commitment to meaningful student engagement, skills development and community impact.
