Dear students and staff
Yesterday, Tuesday 9 February 2016, our Vice-Chancellor Professor Ahmed Bawa met with the SRC to discuss their concerns and demands. The meeting started at 13H30 and ended at 18H30.
Whilst progress was made to find a way forward, a decision was taken late last night to suspend the academic programme on all campuses, for the rest of this week.
There are a number of students who still need to register and many students are still waiting for NSFAS confirmation. A team from NSFAS are here at DUT to assist students.
In the meantime, the registration process will continue and the University remains open.
The Vice-Chancellor will continue to have a dialogue with the SRC to ensure that we are in a position to resume the academic programme next Monday, 15 February 2016.
DUT apologises to all staff and students for any inconvenience caused.
Sincerely
DUT Communications Team
