PUPILS EXCITED BY DUT RECEPTION

PUPILS EXCITED BY DUT RECEPTION

Pupils from different schools across KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) were overwhelmed during the second day of the DUT Open Day exhibition which took place yesterday (Thursday, 13 August 2015) at the Fred Crookes Sports Centre, Steve Biko Campus.

Through the exhibition, pupils interacted with different academic departments at the University on what they offer in terms of career choices.

“I came here to experience different courses on offer and to experience a bit of the University’s campus life,” said Nene.

After seeing “successful DUT graduates” in her community, Andiswa Magoso from Myeka High School in Inanda decided to come to the University’s Open Day event to explore career choices on offer.

Nhlanhla Jali from Mcothoyi High School who sees herself as a successful entrepreneur said she saw DUT as a means to achieving those dreams. “I like entertainment which makes Journalism my favourite course. I grew up as an entertainer and I am excited that Journalism is offered at DUT. It (Journalism) will allow me to reach my destination of becoming an entertainment journalist,” said Jali.
