Lecturer:Dr Innocentia Mkhize Tel: 031 373 2695 Email: innocentiaM2@dut.ac.za Location: Berwyn Court, Ground Floor Campus: Steve Biko Campus Qualification(s): Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from NWU and an M.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from CPUT Bio: I am Dr Innocentia Mkhize, a Lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering at DUT. I joined the institution in August 2022. I hold a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from NWU and an M.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from CPUT. I am a registered candidate engineering technologist of the Engineering Council of South Africa and affiliated with other engineering organisations. I have taught various subjects in Chemical Engineering to both undergraduate and postgraduate-level students at various universities in South Africa for more than nine years. I am currently serving as a Coordinator for Teaching and Learning for the department and am a member of the Institutional Ethics Committee. In my professional career spanning over ten years, I have worked in various positions in the chemical engineering industry with industrial experience in mineral beneficiation, general management, and marketing. Research Interests: My research interests primarily revolve around Machine Learning, industrial wastewater treatment, membrane bioreactors, acid rock drainage, water resources (surface and groundwater), and geohydrology. Throughout my research, I have collaborated with municipalities, government departments, and mining companies. I have also worked with renowned researchers in South Africa, Germany, and France, subsequently publishing in various peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. |
