BIOGRAPHY

Koo is the Siyaphumelela Institutional Researcher and has been working on the Project at DUT since 2017. Prior to this, she lectured Economics and supervised postgraduate students in the Department of Public Management & Economics, where her research focus is the Economics of Education, and Economics Education. She has been able to merge her interests in Economics, Education and student success through her doctoral work, and her involvement in various student support initiatives prior to Siyaphumelela including the Residence Education Project, the First Year Student Experience (FYSE) project and the Curriculum Renewal project at DUT.

As the Institutional Researcher for the Siyaphumelela Project, Koo serves on the various Project Committees, prepares the research proposals for the project, and is part of the team that facilitates various internal and external student success focused workshops, administers the Siyaphumelela surveys, and leads the DUT Data Day Organizing Committee. Apart from Siyaphumelela, Koo prepares the data analysis for the Senate Report component of DUT’s Annual Report.
