Short Bio: Dr Suleman Moolla obtained his MSc in Theoretical Plasma Physics from the University of Durban-Westville. The primary focus was on ring current instabilities in the Earth’s magnetosphere. He graduated with his PhD from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. His PhD dissertation focused on spiky electric field waveforms in various regions of the Earth’s magnetosphere and how it could explain satellite data that detected the presence of BEN (Broadband Electrostatic Noise). He also possesses a Masters of Technology degree and his current highest qualification is a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Energy Engineering. Short Bio: Mr Vusumuzi Masondo obtained his Master of Science degree in Nuclear Physics from the University of the Western Cape in 2014. He is currently working on his PhD on measurements of neutron beams produced at iThemba LABS using neutron organic scintillators NE213 and NE230, the study includes simulations of neutron measurements using Monte Carlo code MCNPX. He is currently teaching at the Durban University of Technology, mainly teaching Physics 1 for health Sciences. He has interests in software and artificial intelligence applications in education.

Short Bio: Malehlohonolo Gumede is a lecturer in the Department of Physics, Faculty of Applied Sciences at the Durban University of Technology. She teaches physics courses in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Midlands Campus. Malehlohonolo holds a Master of Science degree in Physics, obtained in 2009 from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. The research for which focused on experimental study, through techniques such as UV-NIR spectroscopy, ESR and Photoluminescence, of defects in diamond as sources of single photons. This study’s aim was to determine the use of these single photons in quantum cryptography.
