Theophilus Bryne Thuledu Nhassengo, known as Doc at DUT, has been the Director Student Housing & Residence Life at DUT for the past 18 years and has been in Student Affairs and Services for over 30 years, past President of NASDEV (National Association of Student Development Practitioners in Southern Africa), the President of the Association of Colleges and Universities Housing Officials – International, Southern African Chapter – 2014 – 2017 (ACUHO – I, SAC), a General Council and Executive member of the newly formed Southern African Federation of Student Affairs and Services (SAFSAS), an umbrella body of all the Associations of Student Affairs and Services in Southern Africa. Holds an Honours Bachelor of Education from UKZN, Howard College, Post-graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Cardiff University in Wales, and several certificates and diplomas. Has worked as a Student Advisor in Student Counselling at the University of Zululand, and as Senior Financial Aid Counsellor at UKZN, Westville campus. Serves on the Deaconate and Executive Management of the Berea Congregational Church.
