Municipal Employees Equipped With Essential Skills

“This programme has assisted me to acquire more knowledge about ethics as well as the essence of public participation, in terms of how we can get communities more involved in service delivery programmes,” said Cynthia O’Reilly who graduated today, 12 May 2018 with a Higher Certificate in Public Administration from the Durban University of Technology (DUT).

One of the DNA strands of the Durban University of Technology (DUT) is engagement. According to the DUT-strategic plan 2.0, for engagement to be successful, the University has to develop dynamic interfaces between itself both inside and outside the University. At the core of all engagements must be the core functions of the University – the generation of knowledge, its dissemination, its application and continued use.

 

 


End-user2End User Computing, A Success at DUT!

Fifty-three students, which included 40 teachers and 13 disabled unemployed youth, graduated with a National Certificate: End User Computing qualification at Durban University of Technology (DUT) Ritson Hall, on the 15 June 2017. The programme was one of the first initiatives of the Media, Information, and Communications Technologies Sector Education and Training Authority (MICT SETA) and Education Training and Development Practices Sector Education Training Authority (ETDP SETA) targeted at training educators from the Department of Education (DoE) as well as disabled unemployed learners.
