Launch of the book (Re)searching Durban
Durban University of Technology will launch a book entitled: (Re)searching Durban.
Date: 30 March 2011
Time: 12:00
Venue: Hotel School Conference Centre, Ritson Campus, Durban University of Technology
The book, (Re)searching Durban, apart from being an interaction between university academics and the city we call home, also contributes to the general knowledge of Durban and South Africa as a whole. The authors have tried to take an approach that can reshape academic discourse and the social sciences, in part through collaborations between community organisations, students and professional scholars.
Durban artists are also included in the collection to give it a holistic flavour. They are at the cutting edge of South African-ness, creating and recreating culture trends, breaking new ground, but also revisiting the past. This is what the collection is intended to be: re-imagining our past, taking stock of our present, and creating a future full of hope.
