The Architectural Technician produces drawings, usually on computer, with both broad and detailed aspects of buildings from which contractors build projects. Responsibilities are wider than draughting and can include:

• assistance in architectural design
• assistance with materials
• assistance with colours
• assistance in layouts
• assistance with site levels
• taking levels on site
• measuring existing features and buildings
• studies on historical buildings for further use
• model making
• on-site building supervision
• submission of drawings to local authorities
