INTRODUCING WORKSPACE: WORK INTEGRATED DESIGN STUDIO
The Graphic Design Programme within the Department of Visual Communication Design (DVCD) at the Durban University of Technology (DUT) in partnership with Continuum at the University of East London (UEL), England, have engaged in a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) research project. This initiative is in part motivated by a real commitment at the DVCD to continually improve on the industry readiness of its graduates.
The primary aim of this endeavour is to establish a graphic design, Work integrated learning environment, that attempts to replicate a real time/real life, graphic design and advertising business experience. This includes student engagement with final production processes, with the aim of increasing employability.
