Bio: Thandokuhle E. Khoza currently holds a PhD in Health Sciences (DUT). His other qualifications are M. Tech in Radiography, a Bachelor of Technology, a National Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography from the University of Johannesburg as well a Post Graduate Diploma in Higher Education (UKZN) and an Advanced Diploma in Business Management (DUT). He has experience from the public sector with all the specialties within Radiography. He is currently The Acting HOD and lecturer in the Radiography Department.

Bio: Dr Busisiwe Nkosi graduated with PhD (Health Sciences) at Durban University of Technology. She holds two masters, namely: MBL from UNISA School of Business Leadership and M. Tech: Radiography (Therapy) from University of Johannesburg. She also graduated with B.Tech: Radiography (Therapy) from Natal Technikon, Nat. Higher Diploma: Radiography (Therapy) from Natal Technikon and Nat. Diploma: Radiography (Diagnostic) from Wits Technikon. She has certificates in Hospital Management from Wits University, SAIM Programme in Business Management from UNISA, and Project Management from University of Pretoria. She is currently a lecturer and level coordinator for Radiotherapy Programme in the Faculty of Health Sciences for four years, an internal examiner for the master’s dissertations, a reviewer of mini research projects within the faculty and a supervisor of postgraduate students’ research projects. She has 28 years’ clinical experience in Radiography. Of those, 13 years were in diagnostic radiography and 15 years in radiotherapy. In this interim, she held positions of senior and chief radiographer as well as Head of Department. Her research interests are in cancer control, leadership, public procurement and corporate governance.

Naidoo Nuclear Medicine Senior Lecturer: Dr Subhadranalene (Nalene) Naidoo

Bio: Dr Subhadranalene (Nalene) Naidoo started her teaching career at the then Technikon Natal in 1992 (30 years ago). She was part of the transit into the DIT and now DUT. She completed her PhD studies in Health Sciences in 2021.  She received her Master’s Degree in 2005 from the University of Sydney in Australia, after having being the proud recipient of the AusAid Nelson Mandela Scholarship.  She is a dual qualified radiographer in both Diagnostic Radiography and Nuclear Medicine. Her other qualifications include a BTech in Nuclear Medicine from Technikon Natal, a Higher Diploma in Nuclear Medicine from Technikon Natal, a National Diploma in Nuclear Medicine (NATED), A National Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography (NATED) and a Higher Education Diploma (Technical)from UNISA. She has certificates in an Instructors Course (Natalia) and project management and WEBCT pioneers course from DUT. She served the department of Radiography as HOD from 2006 till early 2014. She was the HOD of the Dental Sciences Department (Dental Technology and Dental Assisting) from 2016 – 2018. She is currently a Senior Lecturer in Radiography and level coordinator for the Nuclear Medicine Programme. She has been a member of several DUT committees including the chair and Vice Chancellor’s Nominee of the Student Disciplinary Committee. She has been an external moderator and examiner for the BHSc and Masters Programmes. She has also been a reviewer for Faculty research projects and internal departmental research projects. She currently supervises student’s research in the BHSc and the Masters programmes in Radiography. She has supervised twelve Masters students through to graduation. Her research interests are in Radiography and Education and she is a believer in the Feng Shui principles of life and techniques for self-healing.

Bio: Diagnostic Lecturer currently pursuing his Phd qualification in Leadership Studies (UKZN). Thuto Motaung graduated with Masters in Business Administration at Durban University of Technology. He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Diagnostic Radiography and National Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography from Natal Technikon. He has both public and private experience in medical imaging sector, with over 12 years’ experience as an academic and with over 5 years as a director and consultant (marketing and quality) in business sector. His research interest is in academic leadership development and change management.

Bio: Sibonelo Madlala currently holds a MSc Health Sciences from the St George’s University of London. His other qualifications are National Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography from Natal Technikon, a Certificate in Project Management from Centre For Professional Development and an LLB qualification (UKZN) He has Diagnostic Radiography clinical experience of 20 years within various specialities, and five (5) of those were served in UK.

Bio: Mrs N Khuluse is the Ultrasound Lecturer in the Department of Radiography. She currently holds a Master in Health Sciences in Radiography (DUT). Her other Qualifications include both her BTech Degree & National Diploma in Radiography –Ultrasound (DUT) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health (UP) She has both public and private sector experience in ultrasound imaging and over 6 years of experience in the academic industry. Her research interest is in ultrasound developments.

Bio: Fathima Ennos is a Clinical Instructor at the Department of Radiography with 5 years of academic teaching and learning experience. She facilitates student training and development in the field of Radiography, both on campus and at the clinical training centres throughout KZN as well as utilising virtual software as a teaching medium. She is qualified with 19 years’ expertise in the clinical applications of conventional and advanced Digital Radiography Diagnostic procedures whilst practicing at IALCH. She has also achieved International clinical work expertise for 4 years as a Senior Medical Imaging Technologist, at the King Khalid National Guard Hospital-Jeddah in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She currently holds a Masters in the Public Health and has a B-Tech in Diagnostic Radiography.

Bio: Lisa Shanglee is a Clinical Instructor at the Department of Radiography since late 2019. She gained over 10 years’ clinical experience as a diagnostic radiographer working at IALCH. She has a BTech in Radiography as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Informatics and is working towards her Masters in Health Sciences.

Bio: Zamanguni Gumede is the Secretary in the Department of Radiography. She has obtained a National Diploma in Office Management and Technology from Mangosuthu Technikon. She has seven years’ administration experience working for different institutions. Her duties include attending to student queries, creating online requisitions and liaising with the Procurement Department, assisting with the registration of new or returning students in the department as well as arranging meetings for the department, minute taking and ensuring efficient operations of the front office.
