In 2007 Sihle S. Sibiya started his career in the academic world as a part time Database and Programming lecturer at the University of Zululand while studying towards his Masters Degree in Computer Science. He holds a BSc and Honours degree in Computer Science from the same University. He later worked for CSIR, the South African Weather Service and the Department of Environmental Affairs. His previous roles at these companies include Candidate Technologist, Engineer, Knowledge Applicator, Database Developer, Systems Developer, ICT Manager, Chief Engineer, and Business Development Manager. He has a solid track record of using advanced research, analysis, strategic planning, leadership, conflict management and negotiation skills to successfully develop business initiatives whilst maximising profit, minimising cost and driving continuous change. Sihle is also an academic, with a number of his academic articles published in the field of Computer Science. He currently holds a Doctorate degree in Information Technology. He has served in various forums including the Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) and ICT Steering committees. Two years after joining Sizwe IT Group as a Senior Business Development Manager, he was promoted to an executive position. He currently serves as the Executive: Systems Integration
