The department runs a hands-on outdoor laboratory in the form of an working plant nursery on the campus. This is linked to a demonstration garden where learners can engage in practical plant identification skills and horticultural techniques such as seed sowing, propagation and plant care. Great news for this year is the renovation of our potting shed, along with the erection of two new plastic tunnel facilities for use by our learners. The nursery is actively expanding its live plant collection and is able to offer a range of exotic and indigenous plants for sale to the general public. Come and visit us at the end of Mansfield Road and leave with a boot load of planting ! Free expert garden advice is available from our well qualified staff.
