QUALIFICATIONS

BIOGRAPHYRoshnee Sunder has been at DUT since 2001. Located in the Faculty of Arts and Design, her primary role as the ADP, is to serve the faculty by providing leadership in all academic development activities related to the curriculum and academic staff. She is driven by a vision of change/transformation/disruption in higher education and embraces theories that analyse and critique the multiple layers of forces shaping academic practices; with a goal to uncover opportunities for transforming/disrupting these practices. Her research interests include curriculum studies and the innovative use of digital technologies in transforming student learning and student success. Her other interests include an understanding of how academics experience the workplace and navigate through their multiple roles as teachers, researchers, innovators, role models, change agents, etc. Roshnee has presented her work at national and local conferences and has published journal articles. She previously held a lecturing position in Radiography, and served as the Head of Department from 2014 to 2018. She remains involved in postgraduate supervision. She is currently a journal reviewer and a member of the editorial board for The South African Radiographer. She has also served as a programme reviewer for the Council for Higher Education. She is a recipient of several excellence awards. In 2022, she received the Vice Chancellor’s Institutional Award, together with her colleagues, in recognizing valuable contribution to Envision2030’s strategic intent in the Category – CREATIVE- for Curriculum Conversations. In 2012, she received three awards for teaching excellence – the CHE/HELTASA National Excellence in Teaching & Learning Award, the VC Distinguished Teaching Award and Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching. In 2006, she received a Cosmonauts Teaching Award for Excellence in the field of eLearning. |
