University Capacity Development Programme (UCDP)

1. University Capacity Development Programme (UCDP)-It is the umbrella programme encapsulating DUT service offering of UCDP grant to
support student development, staff development, programme development; and curriculum development, renewal and transformation; with the purpose of Transforming teaching, learning, researching and leading towards enhanced quality, success and equity within the institution.

UCDG-The University Capacity Development Grant (UCDG) is one of the earmarked grant and forms part of the funding mechanism that the state uses to allocate funding within the institution. It is intended to provide the resources ongoing capacity development and towards the achievement of specific objectives in its areas of focus.

NESP– Supporting of new emerging scholars for 2 years Masters programme either internationally or in South Africa and internship programme either whose academic overall performance are above 65% . It is meant to support capable post graduate students to take their first step towards academic career through scholarship and internship.

NGAP– Supporting recruitment suitable and highly capable scholars who are below 40 years of age whose average academic performance is 70% and above to be developed as future academics; Collaborative grant where DUT collaborates with other universities to support transformation, success, equity and equality.

DUT-UFS Collaborative Grant– Collaborative Engagement between University of Free-state and DUT with the aim of Expansion of dedicated Institutional Academic Advising capacity.

UPSET Collaborative Grant– The University-led Collaborative Projects Sub- Programme is a system-wide intervention that relies on the contribution of multiple role-players at all levels of the higher education system to support its effective implementation. It is based on articulation of the barriers experienced by TVET college learners in the transitioning process. A collaboration fund has been provided at national level and the Department strategically directs the fund to enable the implementation of University-led
Collaborative Projects that will build the capacity of the university system in the national focus areas. Where applicable, appropriate and desirable, individual universities should build participation in relevant university initiatives, into their University-led Collaborative Project proposals Any other adhoc nationally driven programmes like Covid 19 response grant.
