Design Thinking In Practice and Project Based Learning

As we embrace and mainstream our guiding philosophy, “Our creativity and innovation shape adaptive graduates who transform society,” we are proud to showcase our commitment through dynamic educational strategies. Project Based Learning and Design Thinking are two such innovative strategies that promote creativity, innovation, adaptability and criticality. These methodologies encourage students to solve real-world problems using their knowledge and develop innovative solutions that can lead to new products and services. These methodologies are not just educational tools but are catalysts for fostering real-world problem-solving capabilities, creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship among our students.

The university is dedicated to supporting the integration of Design Thinking and Project-Based Learning into the curriculum and recognizes the importance of allocating resources for such initiatives. In 2024, the office of the DVC Teaching and Learning has approved 13 proposals through the Big Rocks projects, which demonstrate potential in adopting PBL and DT. The aim is to promote self-directed learning, facilitate self-awareness, and encourage students to become active partners in applying and generating knowledge.
